You've got the job...today's four favorite words...

Unlike in past years, job recruiters are now encouraging people not to be discouraged or ashamed if their resume includes more than one job or position within the last two, five, or even ten years. Job seekers are being reminded to place their focus on getting re-employed if that is their goal.

Other recommendations being offered to persons looking for jobs are to consider either going back to school to learn new marketable skills or a trade, or possibly becoming self-employed if you already have skills that are currently in some level of demand.

Employers seem to understand that the slumped economy has been no respecter of industry, with downsizing and layoffs occurring in every field, and the hiring individuals are seemingly not holding multiple positions against quality prospective candidates who might be a good match for their organization.

Unemployment or re-employment agencies as they are now known, local public libraries, municipal departments, on-line job search firms, recruitment firms, and personnel agencies are all pitching in to help local constituents keep their heads above water during their job searches by offering FREE services to people looking for jobs.

Some of these free services include resume critiquing, resume writing or re-writing, mock interviewing, building computer skills, improving English language skills, and more.

Private recruiters have even begun donating their time and expertise as a service to their communities, and meeting in local libraries and municipalities to conduct employment search workshops for local township residents.

These workshops led by actual humans, allow for back-and-forth conversation and interaction; and the passing along of very helpful job search etiquette tips.

According to one personnel agency recruiter, the person looking for the job would need to first register and become an employee of the personnel agency before qualifying for the free job search skills' courses offered by these types of recruitment companies.

In addition, people are being encouraged to volunteer their time or services during any gaps in employment for a couple of reasons. One, it will give the individual a sound purpose to focus on instead of dwelling about a job loss -- spending time helping others will help the individual, at least temporarily, forget about the help he or she may need.

Volunteerism and community service are also providing the notation of legitimate activities on the resume. This will help avoid objectionable questions about what you've been doing during the pre-screening and interview phases of a job search.

Anyone volunteering or providing a free service might decide to tap into a developed skill or talent and offer it to individuals, business owners, or non-profit agencies at no cost.

Every recruiter, headhunter, and personnel agency researched seemed to agree that if the person looking for the job is willing to work hard on finding work; he or she may be one of the fortunate ones who will hear sooner than later today's four favorite words: you've got the job.

Use these helpful tips, stay encouraged, and Good Luck with your searches!
